Survival is not always about who may be the fittest or the strongest. Your survival may depend in part on your mental fortitude and the ability to think clearly under stress. Poor cooking skills and not realizing the dangers of raw foods can endanger you and your family. It is incumbent upon you to learn how to process raw foods such as chicken, beef and other animals. Survival reality shows, for drama, may show a survivalist eating raw game or even fish with no apparent side effects. Wild game, fish and farm animals such as chicken and beef do contain parasites, bacteria and in some cases pathogens that can make you sick or even worse. The animals/wild game must be processed after the kill properly, and then the meat must be made ready for preservation and then be cooked in such a manner that all bacteria and parasites are destroyed. Cooking skills are vital.

Self-reliance is important; you must learn to sustain life with the most basic of tools and appliances. Once again, reasoning and thinking through the problem will help you prevail.

Depression is in actual fact an exceptionally well-known condition. In My Life Meaning Comes From Appreciation And Living In The Now

Taking joy out of life and having a sense of purpose contribute enormously to happiness. Some people easily add happiness to their existences, whilst some take years to find out what makes them satisfied and what they would like to achieve. Every unique person has different skills and types of enjoyment. In my life meaning is taken from relationships, passions and a goal driven existence but for other people, happiness is more easily found in career and achievement.

People who feel passionately about something tend to extract more joy from their lives when they follow their dreams. Those with obvious talents find their passions easy to identify, whilst others need to actively pursue the pastimes they love. However passion is found, its rewards are long lasting and potent.

Most people work for a third of their lives. Those who set their careers in accordance with what they are skilled at and enjoy doing have more rewarding existences. Those who pursue their passions in their jobs often find that starting a career that makes use of their talents is less effortful than they imagined. Generally, the ease comes from the fact that people are often skilled in the activities they enjoy.

Talent and enjoyment come hand in hand, and those who use feed their gifts into a goal driven career enjoy a sense of direction and a more pleasurable existence. It is said that it takes 10 000 hours of work to become an expert at anything. Those willing to put in the hours necessary are likely to find themselves excelling in their given field.

Finding a balance in one's existence helps one to fulfill more of one's needs. A lifestyle that is managed well is more efficient at satisfying all of a person's needs. Those whose lives entail aspects of creativity, healthy habits, spirituality, relationships and rest tend to be more fulfilled.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs states that one can only fulfill higher needs when basic ones have been met. The penultimate goal, according to Maslow, is self actualization. This is a state at which one achieves self knowledge and one's biggest aims. To reach that stage, however, one needs to work at fulfilling the foundation requirements including relationships, physical and financial health.

Every person understands the word 'spirituality' in a different way. There are certain people who dislike the word, but they include its practice in their daily living anyway. Time has altered the definition. Before, it was seen to contain a religious element. These days, people who don't live religiously apply spiritual principles to their lives.

Living according to spiritual principles is efficient at ridding one's life of unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors. Those who practice honesty, humility and authenticity enjoy positive consequences whilst those who practice dishonesty, insecurity and arrogance endure negative results.

Some define spirituality according to principles such as authenticity and self knowledge. Such factors are relevant to every individual, regardless of their religious beliefs. In my life meaning comes from putting my efforts into the present moment instead of the past and future. Those who are able to experience every moment without distraction are better able to take everything the world has to offer.
