What One Can Expect To Learn In Psych-K Workshops

By Leigh Bean

Nowadays, it is a very common belief that sicknesses in the mind can be related to problems in the body. During the past, it was always a standard principle that if there was a problem in the body, the mind was one of the biggest culprits behind it. Today, many health practitioners believe that it also applies to other way around. There are many people who attend what is known as psych-k workshops in order to learn how to fix problems in the subconscious using the physical body.

In a nutshell, psych-k or energy psychology is a technique that enables people to have only positive thoughts in both their conscious and subconscious mind. Believe it or not, this method can actually change the outlook in life of a person in just a few sessions. The best part is that the exercises of this method do not need to be done with an assistant all the time; one may do it on his own.

Now Doctor Robert Williams, M. A., who is the founder of this method, was not very convinced with the processes of ordinary therapy. He believed that there are probably better ways to treat a patient than just consultations and medicine. Thus, psych-k or energy psychology was born as a supplement.

Basically, the whole core of this practice is the ability to relate the motor movement of the body to the state of the subconscious. When the subconscious has a certain perception on a particular issue, it will send a signal to the body which will make the muscles move involuntarily. This is how a practitioner will be able to tell whether his patient has a positive outlook or a negative one.

An example of this is when the practitioner would say a certain statement and the patient must either agree or disagree. If the patient agrees, his muscles will get all worked up and produce a strong movement. If he disagrees though, then his muscle movement will be somewhat weaker. Each muscle response is related to one particular belief.

A practitioner will be able to teach the kinds of involuntary muscle movements and how to diagnose a patient based on that. There are many different kinds of motions that correspond to many different psychological issues. When these problems are discovered, then it is very easy for the practitioner to think of a solution.

People would usually wonder how long it would take before effects of this therapy would take place. Well it would really depend on the progress of the individual. There are some who would notice change in an instant right after a few sessions of psych-k therapy. There are also those who do not see any results but would slowly and gradually change as time passes by.

So basically, that is an overview of what one will learn to be doing when attending psych-k workshops. Just remember that it will take a lot of patience to master all the techniques that will be taught in this course. Once it is mastered, then one will be able to treat people easily and change their lives.
